CHRISTOS CAPRALOS        was born in PANETOLIO , near AGRINIO - GREECE  in 1909 and passed  away   in 1993
              He studied painting   at the Athens School of FINE ARTS ( 1929-1934) and sculpture at the Academies GRAND  CHAUMIERE and  COLAROSSI , PARIS ( 1934-1940)
              A born sculptor Carpalos works   with stone and lead, with bronze and wood , with  plaster and clay, for he cannot do otherwise, creating figures  in all sorts of material  exactly  as he breaths and lives.

            His  really  epic   zoophorous  THE PINDUS BATTLE MONUMENT ( length 4o m high 11o cm) has been sculptured  on the  porous  stone of Aegina island and it is distinguished by its heroic mood and by its  deep human meaning, by the presence of anecdotal elements and its universal character, by its grasp of the temporary, as much as by reference to historical development   ( CHR.CHRISTOU - Academic).

              In the island of Aegina  Capralos      since  1963 had his own summer studio , sharing his time between Athens  and Aegina. In Aegina  is found the CAPRALOS MUSEUM which consiists of  six studios with his work.
         In the  studios  one can see  painting, sculptures on the porous stone of Aegina , sculptures of   eucalyptus woo, some  of which  are in supernatural dimensions, small      sculptures on  bronze, teracottas and ceramic. Part of his paintings are exhibited in one of the studios and in another one is exhibited the zoophorous " THE PINDUS BATTLE MONUMENT"

        The large yard  all around  the museum , opens just like a fan with its large side to the sea  to a magic view to Saronic Gulf.

            The artist  himself decorated this large  land where   one can enjoy pieces of sculpture on porous  stone and marble.

 All around are planted  vine-yard and olive trees , oleanders, lilies and aromatic plants.
           Out  of the Museum  by the sea-side is erected a supernatural bronze sculpture. It is the figure of his mother, who posed for him for several years.

         CHR. CAPRALOS  exhibited for the first time abroad at the BIENNALE of VENICE (Italy 1962)  where he  represented CREECE.      On this  occasion his work  was   unanimously Known all over the world , through media , publication and newspapers etc.
          H was   soon   well Known  to the hole world.  He had  a permanent  contact with a vens  well Known gallery in N. York and cooperated with European galleries.
          After   that other exhibitions took place in Europe , USA, japan etc.
